Happy 2014 to you all. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that the start of your year has been wonderful.

Here are some of my favourite photos from the Christmas period.

Well just after the Christmas and New Year festivities were over Little Miss H turned six. I really can’t believe it – where did the time go? Anyway she watched ‘Kirsties Crafty Christmas’ with me and decided that in honour of her becoming six we ought to decorate the lounge with glorious tissue paper flowers – I didn’t need much convincing let me tell you! These are super quick and easy to make and what was even better was that mother and daughter sat at the table and made them together. We hope that you like them!

I’ve also been finishing off a five metre flower garland which will eventually end up decorating a yurt. I love making flowers although I do end up yearning for spring. It’s been very wet, windy and grey over here for what seems like days – perfect weather for snuggling in front of a film with my hook and my family.

After completing and delivering the flower garland I had a yearning – a yearning for a blanket. When I wandered past a few of the balls of wool I had used to make the flower garland Cath Kidston colours sprung into my mind. So here is my Cath Kidston inspired block stitch blanket in the making!

Here’s to a Happy, Healthy and Creative Year!

Until next time, stay dry!
